‘ Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’ is an Indian Educational Organisation founded by Dr.Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. It is one of the leading educational institution in Asia. Since its inception in 1965 Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science has continued the legacy of Sanstha for the last 56 years and has imparted quality science education to the society.
It is a premier college and the preferred destination for the students to perceive higher education in the disciplines of Science.
Our institute has been honoured with" A+" grade with CGPA 3.57 in Third Cycle accreditation by NAAC. It has also received the status of College with Potential for Excellence from UGC, New Delhi as well as for FIST,STAR college by DBT, New Delhi. Best college award for NSS unit by Government of Maharashtra and Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Academic Excellence Award by Shivaji University,Kolhapur,Best College Award by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha.
Our Junior college has received 137 marks out of 138 'A' Grade from 'Shala Siddhi Team and certified ISO 9001:2015.Academic excellence has always been its prominent feature. We have a superb, dedicated, enthusiastic teaching team and supporting staff in Junior College including 105 full time teachers and 10 part time teachers. We have 18 grantable and 12 non grantable divisions. Presently, in our college 4000 students are seeking education in Science disciplines in the Junior section.To upgrade the result of H. S. C. Board Examination above 98% and to increase the number of Advanced Learners for entrance examinations like JEE, NEET, MHCET, NATA, NDA, CDS, SSB, MPSC, USC.
The college has its own beautiful premises and well developed campus with all the needed infrastructure and modern amenities and facilities. We have made the provision of a hostel for boys and girls in the campus. The college has an Earn and Learn Scheme which fulfills the Motto (Education through self help) of our parent institution, Rayst Shikshan Sanstha, Satara.
In our Institute, we are conducting 'Rayat Gurukul CET Project. We have 20 qualified, experienced, teachers in this project. We are providing students with various facilities like study rooms, extra lectures, study materials, weekly tests, guest lectures, mock tests, supervised study etc. It is a matter of great pride that every year the students studying in this Gurukul bring laurels by shining in the merit list of the SSC board.
I am really proud that our alumni are spread across the globe holding prominent position.The institute is striving hard to make better quality engineers, doctors, scientists, IAS and IPS officers, thinkers, social workers.
